Jim Blayney brings more than 30 years of diverse management experience in business services firms. He has particular expertise in the areas of strategy development and implementation, as well as sales and marketing and financial management.
Prior to RenewData, Blayney was the division president of SOURCECORP's Legal and Consulting Division, which specializes in claims administration and consulting for the legal profession. He also held other executive positions within SOURCECORP, including serving as president of Rust Consulting and ERS Group, wholly owned subsidiaries.
Before joining SOURCECORP, Blayney was the senior vice president of business services for RSM McGladrey, Inc. and McGladrey and Pullen, LLP, the fifth-largest CPA and business services firm in the country. There he was responsible for the consulting practices, investment banking, retirement plan administration and wealth management practices for the entire firm.
Blayney holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Central College, a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin, and was a Certified Public Accountant.
Director, Analytics Consulting and Operations
Bobbi Basile brings nearly 25 years of experience in the legal and records management industries, delivering strategic operations and technology services to Fortune 500 legal departments and law firms. Prior to RDC Analytics, Basile was an Executive Director at Ernst & Young and a leader in the development of the discovery response and records management advisory practice, responsible for delivering services to corporate legal departments and outside counsel.
Basile has delivered a variety of consulting engagements which include: electronic discovery technology selection and implementation, content management technology selection and implementation, creation of outside counsel guidelines, defining corporate enterprise records management programs, law department knowledge management, trial presentation technology training and law firm matter management selection and implementation. Prior to her career in consulting, she worked as a litigation paralegal in law firms in Texas, Hawaii and Colorado.
Basile holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayland Baptist University. She is also a certified Paralegal (CP/CLA) and a certified Project Manager (PMP).
Brian M. Brown
Vice President, Technology & Security
Brian Brown is an innovator and industry leader with over fifteen years experience architecting solutions for technology start-ups. He currently leads strategic technological roadmap efforts for the company, leveraging his experience handling massive data volumes (30PB+), as well as his background with enterprise-level software development, information architecture, and data center and security convergence.
Additionally, Brown uses his expertise in computer forensics, eDiscovery, and information security to assist clients in cases requiring the extensive review of relevant case data by a fully trained and certified investigator. Brown is also responsible for the design, construction, and management of RenewData's 43,000 square-foot, secure, state-of-the-art facility.
Prior to joining RenewData, Brown was an executive with Complete Data Solutions and Appropriate Health Services, and was a Principal Consultant for Dell Computer Corporation where he specialized in ecommerce, high availability, and security.
Brown is a licensed Private Investigator (qualified manager) in the state of Texas. He takes an active role in the information technology community through his speaking engagements at conferences, attendance of prominent industry groups such as the High Tech Crime Investigators Association (HTCIA), Infragard, Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) and Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS), and he has written numerous magazine articles on the topic of information security.
Kelvin H. Chin
Kelvin H. Chin is Consulting Director at RenewData. In this role, Chin consults with clients on eDiscovery best practices and appropriate forms of review acceleration. He provides guidance on effective ways to manage costs associated with document review, without compromising on defensibility. He also works closely with clients to develop tailored solutions to meet their unique data archiving needs related to compliance monitoring, data retention management, and legal holds.
Chin has more than 25 years of strategic, leadership, management, and client services experience in legal services and consulting firms, and has managed eDiscovery and document review for large litigations and government investigations. He has recruited, trained and led teams to manage consultative, client-driven service relationships with CEOs, CFOs, and GCs at Fortune 500 and middle market companies. He was previously with the AmLaw100 firms Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice LLP and Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP, as well as the litigation firm Theodora Oringher PC, where he was chief client development officer. He was a regional vice president for a decade with the American Arbitration Association, a corporate associate at Choate Hall & Stewart LLP, a FINRA mediator/arbitrator for the financial services industry, and co-founder of a technology start up.
Chin is a frequent presenter to national and state bar associations, international and national industry and trade groups, universities, and business and law schools, and is a National Advisory Council member of Asian Americans Advancing Justice. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College, Yale Graduate School, and Boston College Law School.
Director of Project Management
Gina Foster brings more than 19 years of experience in various positions within the legal industry. She joined RenewData as a Project Manager in 2007, and currently leads all activities of our highly-rated Project Management team. Prior to joining RenewData, Foster was the Executive Legal Assistant to the Partner-in-Charge at Baker Botts where she was responsible for a variety of activities including daily client interaction, maintaining billable hours, and drafting and editing briefs and motions. Foster is currently responsible for directing all project management activities and maintaining excellent client feedback through team training, internal process revisions, and organizing the team to ensure process flow and continual client support and interface. Foster attended Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio.
Daniel E. Jones
Chief Financial Officer
Daniel Jones is responsible for the finance, accounting, legal, investor relations and risk management functions at RenewData. He brings more than 20 years of accounting, finance, and Mergers & Acquisitions experience to the role.
Prior to joining RenewData, Jones was Senior Vice President of Operations Planning and Analysis of SOURCEHOV, a $500M business process outsourcing and consulting firm located in Dallas, TX. In this role, his responsibilities included treasury, corporate planning, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and special projects. During his 11 year career with SOURCEHOV, he helped lead the sale of the company to an affiliate of Apollo Management, a transaction valued at nearly $475 million. He subsequently led the due diligence efforts for the refinancing of the company, a $125 million PIK (Paid in Kind) loan. He was a key team member of the leadership team in the purchase of HOVServices, a $600M transaction. After the acquisition Jones led an 80-member team of on- and off-shore accounting and finance functions for the BPS division of SOURCEHOV.
Previously, Jones held several positions at BorgWarner Automotive, a multi-billion dollar international Tier-1 manufacturer of automotive parts and accessories. During this time, Jones supported the sales and operations teams as a controller and pricing analyst on deals totaling more than $500 million in contract value. Prior to joining BorgWarner, Jones spent six years in the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry in various audit and accounting functions.
Jones earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He passed the CPA exam in 1993.
Vice President of Marketing
Linda Kish brings a unique combination of marketing, eDiscovery and legal experience to RenewData. She has particular expertise in marketing strategy, positioning, and building and strengthening client relationships.
Most recently, she was the Chief Marketing Officer at Brown McCarroll law firm. Prior, Kish spent four years at Kroll Ontrack as a Legal Consultant and later a Product Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing and Communications. During her tenure at Kroll Ontrack she was a frequent speaker and author on eDiscovery and computer forensics matters.
Earlier in her career, Kish had her own law practice in Philadelphia and before that worked in the legal department at a Fortune 500 healthcare company. During this time she handled attorney-client privilege reviews and document productions.
Kish earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from West Virginia University, her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine School of Law and her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
Andy Kraftsow leads the company's efforts to develop groundbreaking technologies. He joined the company from Digital Mandate via acquisition in 2009. While at Digital Mandate, he spearheaded the company's efforts to build the Vestigate legal review solution, which remains an integral piece of RDC Analytics' content analytics portfolio.
Over the past 25 years, Kraftsow has founded and been CEO of three software companies, each of which was ultimately sold to a public company. In 1999, he founded DolphinSearch, Inc. to bring the power of advanced neural networks mathematics to the legal profession.
Trained as a mathematician (and a CPA) Kraftsow is one of the pioneers of networked (VPN and internet) business applications. His specialty has been in the field of information analysis using various aspects of applied mathematics.
Kraftsow graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Econometrics. He has been on the board of a variety of public and private institutions.
Director of Human Resources
Lisa Novak brings more than 18 years of experience in human resources management and consulting to RenewData. Novak's extensive experience in the semiconductor and other high-tech industries at startups and high-growth companies includes more than a decade of recruiting and staffing-related roles and HR generalist functions.
Previous to RenewData Ms. Novak served as a consultant at Pedley-Richard and Associates, a recruiting and staffing agency, and held numerous recruiting, staffing, HR generalist, management, and consulting positions at companies including Brooktree (now Conexant), Sprint and SigmaTel, where, as the Staffing Manager, she helped optimize a local company of only 80 employees to an international enterprise of over 550 employees, in less than 3 years. Ms. Novak is a member and active participant in a number of local and national HR and high tech organizations, including SHRM, and maintains her SPHR certification.
Vice President, Operations
Aubrey Owens has more than 18 years of experience in the electronic discovery industry. With a focus on leveraging emerging litigation support technology to provide innovative solutions and services, Owens has a strong background in operations management, process optimization, quality methods and technology.
Prior to RenewData, leadership positions held by Owens include Discovery Solutions Architect at Digital Reef, Vice President of Technology at Superior Document Services, and Director of Facilities Management at On-Site Sourcing. Owens provides expertise in cutting-edge industry technologies and tools, including maintaining his status as a Relativity Certified Administrator, and applies his knowledge of proven best practices across the operations team, streamlining and improving processes and workflows for clients.
Chief Operating Officer
Hemanth Salem has more than 22 years of experience in enterprise systems and architectures and has focused on litigation support for the past 15 years. He has significant experience working with Amlaw 200 law firms and fortune 100 corporations in the pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, technology, consumer products, armed forces and services industries to streamline their information management and discovery strategies and develop best practices.
Salem has extensive experience in implementing streamlined operations focused on client service, quality and efficiency. He has previously held senior leadership roles such as Vice President of Professional Services as Encore Discovery Solutions, Vice President of Technology and Operations at Esquire Litigation Solutions, and Engineering Manager at Merrill Corporation and Trion Technologies. In addition to managing paper and electronic discovery on large scale, complex litigation, Salem has handled very large mergers and acquisitions from setting up electronic deal rooms to second requests. He has also managed enterprise systems implementations including development, systems integration, document conversion and implementation of high security, high availability systems for large corporations and the US Air Force. Salem has architected and developed high-end litigation support software and systems in addition to solutions in the crime fighting and defense industries.
Salem holds an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the International Institute of Technology, India and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University. He has published research in the areas of advanced databases and visual query languages.
Salem has presented nationally and internationally at several conferences on topics such as electronic discovery best practices, discovery issues in ITC investigations, corporate discovery optimization, FERPA, etc.
Sr. Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Tom Shambo has more than 19 years experience in executive and senior sales leadership positions, as well as a proven track record of increasing revenue and shareholder value while growing customer satisfaction. Over the past 10 years, he has led teams of Account Executives selling solutions within the full EDRM spectrum to the F1000 Corporate and AMLaw 200 Law Firm markets. Most recently he was VP of Discovery Sales for Autonomy, an HP Company.
Prior to joining Autonomy Shambo was Vice President of N. America Sales for ZANTAZ Corporation, the market leader in cloud-based compliance and discovery management solutions, which was acquired by Autonomy in 2007. Tom was previously Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Steelpoint Technologies, the market leader in hosted and licensed Discovery solutions for large and complex litigation and investigations that was acquired by ZANTAZ in 2004. Prior to these positions he held VP and senior-management positions with ePresence, Banyan Systems, Inc. and Syntrex Technologies.
Shambo holds a Masters Degree in Education and a BS in Mathematics and Secondary Education from the University of Oswego in New York where he started his career as a High School Math and Computer Science teacher and Football coach. Shambo uses those teaching and coaching skills daily in driving his sales teams to succeed.
