Richard Cohen, President, leads RenewData's external activities and client advisory service functions. He brings more than 20 years of management and legal experience, as a corporate executive, consultant, and General Counsel to RenewData. Prior to joining RenewData, Mr. Cohen served as Senior Vice President & Managing Director of Legal Services for a large legal services organization focusing on complex litigation matters and bankruptcies. Previously Mr. Cohen was COO of Integrex Professional Claims Services where he was responsible for operations, IT, sales, and marketing. His extensive experience also includes General Counsel at Ohio Power and Columbus Southern Power Companies; Senior Director, Corporate Legal Markets and Strategic Alliances/Licensing at Lexis-Nexis; Vice President at Lexford Residential Trust; Deputy Law Director for the City of Cuyahoga Falls; and Assistant Law Director for the City of Akron.
Mr. Cohen has served as the President of the American Corporate Counsel Association in Ohio, Editor-in-Chief of the Electricity Journal, and former Editor of the Energy Information Bulletin. He is a member of the American and Ohio State Bar Association, and has chaired the American Bar Association's Coordinating Group on Energy Law and Ohio Electric Utility Legal Committee, co-chaired the American Bankruptcy Institute's Mass Torts Subcommittee, and has been a member of the ABA Class Actions/Derivative Suits Subcommittee. Mr. Cohen is a member of the Corporate Counsel Advisory Board for The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel and a recipient of the Distinguished Legal Service Award conferred by Corporate Legal Times. Mr. Cohen holds a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law.
