Whether the original media has been collected directly from the client's site or shipped to our processing facility, RenewData accepts responsibility for the original media in a secure receiving room where chain-of-custody is conducted by the RenewData Materials department.

The RenewData Materials department documents all pieces of original media in a standard chain-of-custody log.

A unique RenewData Media ID number is created for each original piece of media and is cross-referenced to the client's name and serial number, if any, on the original media. The RenewData Media ID number is printed on a bar-code label and affixed to the original media in a manner that will not affect existing labels.

Once the chain-of-custody log is complete, the original media is moved by the RenewData Materials department to the Production Vault outside of the processing center.

Only original media that is required for processing is removed from the Production Vault and allowed into the processing center. All access to original media is recorded on the chain-of-custody log.
