When a reviewer identifies responsive language in a document, he or she highlights the language and then tags the document. In the background, the Vestigate software identifies and bulk-tags every other document in the collection that contains the same highlighted language. This results in dramatic productivity gains as there are generally tens or hundreds more documents in the collection containing the highlighted language.
Vestigate review is generally completed after reading only 10% of the document collection resulting in a significant reduction in the length of time required. This is possible as a result of bulk-tagging being applied behind-the-scenes, resulting in a much larger percentage of the collection being tagged as responsive. While only a minority of the collection is actually read, every document in the collection is subject to consideration via searches and the randomized presentation of documents to the reviewers.
