Project Manager, eDiscovery

Description

Under General Supervision of the Director, Legal Solutions:

      • Responsible for managing electronic evidence services projects.
      • Responsible for defining project assumptions and requirements, setting client expectations with regards to timelines and costs, and managing customer relations throughout the entirety of the project.
      • Responsible as the primary interface with all clients including law firms, corporations and partners.
      • Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of the challenges clients face in the electronic discovery industry.
      • Responsible for advising clients and the Sales team of additional Renew Data services and products that could be beneficial for ongoing electronic discovery projects.
      • Responsible for acting as the liaison between clients and Renew Data processing teams.
      • Responsible for maintaining high client satisfaction ratings as documented by surveys, repeat business, and other client feedback.
      • Daily activities include managing all aspects of a project, such as strategic and tactical project consulting regarding eDiscovery best practices, providing daily status updates to clients, creating project documentation (Work Orders, SharePoint Sites, Risk Scorecards, etc.), working with the Production Services organization to ensure quality and timelines, managing scope changes, mitigating project risks, setting client expectations regarding project costs, projecting revenue, updating the sales team, and generating reports.

 

Essential Functions

      • Define the application architecture
      • Resolve high-level functional issues
      • Align technology platform with business requirements, while achieving cost and quality goals
      • Coach the Application Engineer team in the development of the application solution
      • Guide the team in the development of the packaged applications
      • Provide continuity in all major application solution decisions
      • Lead cross functional teams in developing the future state vision
      • Develop roadmap and scorecard of the transformation with summary presentations illustrating progress on transformational activities
      • Maintain application asset inventory and interaction with vendors on related costs
      • Communicate TCO of each IT application by business segment, and as a whole
      • Leads or participates on projects to pilot, or implement relevant processes and technologies
      • Leads ‘team leads/architects'to maintain application inventory; approves to-be architecture proposals citing risks/cautions
      • Acts as the focal point for application technology requirements, maintaining the list of requests and facilitating process closure across the multi-functional teams
      • Acts as advocate for technology strategies and processes
      • Maintains awareness of application technology developments, internally and externally of RDC
      • Manage conflicts and facilitate closure in the decision process regarding applications
      • Document current state of application footprint. Keep updated as a reference tool

 

Knowledge and Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree
      • Customer service experience working with the legal community or similar industries
      • Experience in managing complex service-based projects (electronic evidence experience a plus)
      • IT and litigation support experience is preferred, specifically working with litigation review technologies (online, Attenex, iConect, Relativity, Concordance, Summation, Ringtail, Steelpoint, etc.)
      • The ability to work independently and lead cross-departmental teams working on your projects
      • The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects
      • The ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet the needs of clients with emergency projects
      • The ability to learn new concepts and technology solutions as the electronic discovery industry changes and grows over time
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
      • PMP, MBA and/or JD preferred

 

Independent Action: Duties performed independently.

 

Supervisory Responsibiltity: No direct internal supervisory responsibility; however, requires supervision of services from partners and/or other vendors. Also, requires leadership of project-related meetings and communications with cross-functional teams.
