RenewData® Captures Inc. 500 for Second Year in a Row

Multiple Product Unveilings Meet the Demand for Exceptional Growth in E-Discovery Market

AUSTIN, TX - September 12, 2007 - RenewData, a leading provider of electronic evidence and data migration services for corporations and law firms, today announced that it has once again been included in Inc. Magazine's list of America's 500 fastest-growing companies. This is RenewData's second year to be named to the Inc. 500 list.

The 2007 Inc. 500 list measures revenue growth from 2003 through 2006. RenewData's sustained progress is due in part to the rapidly expanding e-discovery market, which has been affected by the recent changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. According to a recent Gartner report, "The Emerging E-Discovery Market" from July 18, 2007, "the market for e-discovery products and services is growing by more than 37 percent per year."1 In answer to this need, RenewData provides its customers with superior legal expertise and offers e-discovery planning, preservation and collection, processing, review, production, evidence archiving and data migration services.

"We are honored to receive this award again from Inc. Magazine," said Ellery Buchanan, CEO of RenewData. "Being recognized as one of the top 500 fastest growing private companies is further validation of RenewData's continued growth and commitment to our clients. As we continue to see an increased demand for tools and services needed to help corporate legal departments and law firms manage the e-discovery process, RenewData is poised to address these needs with our legal and technical expertise."

The continued increase in the amount of data processed each year is a testament to the company's growth. In 2006 alone, RenewData processed more than 18 petabytes of data - around 1.35 trillion pages - which is more than twice the amount processed the previous year and more than four times the 4.3 petabytes processed in 2004.

As the e-discovery market continues to boom, RenewData is listening to its clients' needs and is working to provide the tools and services that allow for a more proactive approach to the litigation process.

With this in mind, RenewData announced the following new services and partnerships in 2007:

  • Data Migration Services enables corporations who have implemented an email archiving system to migrate and consolidate historical email from disparate sources into their new system. The result is a centralized repository to support legal discovery.

  • Attenex® Patterns® E-Discovery Software – reduces the time and expense of legal review through visualization and concept mapping capabilities, which can boost reviewer productivity from 200 to over 2000 document decisions per day.

  • StoredIQ® Onsite Data Collection expands the capabilities of RenewData's collection offering to include the capture of live, unstructured data and email in real time at the site of its corporate clients.

  • Foreign Language Processing Capabilities – gives clients the ability to use foreign character search terms, including "wildcards," to search document text and text-based metadata fields, such as title and author.

  • NSF Output – provides a complete solution for collecting, processing and delivering documents in Lotus Notes (NSF) format.

  • Safe Harbor Certification - ensures that RenewData has taken the steps required to be added to the U.S. Department of Commerce's Safe Harbor List and that it adheres to the framework developed to provide "adequate" privacy protection when transferring data to the United States for processing in the course of electronic discovery.

Market Education

As the market for electronic evidence and data migration services evolves, RenewData is committed to offering opportunities to learn more about these topics through various learning venues, such as webinars, whitepapers, and other reference materials. On September 20, 2007, RenewData is hosting a free webinar, "What They Didn't Teach You in Law School about eDiscovery," featuring a panel of seasoned litigation professionals, attorneys, and RenewData experts who will provide insight to the fundamentals of e-discovery. The panelists will focus on the core elements of e-discovery principles and best practices that attorneys, litigation support, and IT professionals should know before handling their next e-discovery case.
