Technology RenewData's technology platform features patent-pending single-pass processing technology and unique non-native environment technology which were designed for speed and scalability, enabling large volumes of data to be processed in the most expeditious manner.
Single-Pass Processing™ The single-pass processing technology allows files that have been segmented across more than one backup tape to be read as a whole without having to process each tape in their original sequence or read tapes more than once. It also enables processing of orphan tapes that may have originally been part of a sequence of tapes that no longer exist. RenewData can process any tape in any order and delve into the content immediately, which allows a reduction in labor costs and processing time, as well as alleviates much of the burden on clients when trying to locate, identify, and sort through expansive tape inventories.
Non-Native Environment Technology The non-native environment technology allows for the extraction of electronic information from virtually any electronic media or computer environment without re-creating the native environment in which the data was stored. It avoids the additional steps necessary with the more traditional native restoration process, which can be much more complex for threaded backup software and for email servers and the cost of computer hardware and software licensing dramatically increases the cost of restoring large volumes of tapes. RenewData extracts files directly from virtually all varieties of media, software, email and data types without having to re-create the media's native environment, which results in saved costs and time. RenewData legal and technical experts assist companies with their 26 (f) "meet and confer" conferences by acting as an e-discovery liaison or consultant.
